Mobile Festival of Hope Report!

2,100 Volunteers + 10,200 Guests =
 12,300 People in Attendance!

People Helped . . . God Praised!

Wow! Wow! Wow! Words cannot express how amazing the Mobile Festival of Hope turned out last Sunday, January 24!

Let me give you a summary:

We had 2,100 volunteers show up in the pouring rain and a tornado watch to simply serve and love people. Though we were scheduled to open at 2:00pm, we were able to open up the gates of Ladd-Peebles Stadium at 1:29pm so that we could begin to serve those who had been waiting in line to come in since as early as 7:30am. Incredibly, the pouring rain fell still at about the same time that we were opening the gates.

For the next four hours, Ladd-Peebles Stadium was converted into something that the xxxx year old stadium had never seen! More than 10,200 people walked through the gates looking for hope and help. Supernaturally, hope and help is what they found!

9,148 people were individually prayed for!
250+ people prayed to receive Christ into their lives!
10,000+ meals were provided (thanks to Food for Less)
20,000+ bags of groceries was given away!
1,000+ pairs of new shoes and socks were given away! Incredibly, our volunteers washed most of the recipients feet in a manner similar to when Christ washed His disciples feet!
1,500+ patients were seen by our medical staff! (HIV, H1N1, blood pressures, dental, & other exams given).
720+ haircuts given!
700+ family photos taken!

Family fun consisted of an incredible children's area, sports camp, music, and much, much more!

50 churches participated and an additional 30+ community organizations partnered with us to help! As well, many local businesses provided assistance so that the outreach would not go lacking!

God is at work in Mobile! I am so grateful that He has allowed us to be part in authentically reaching people with the love of Christ!

Special THANKS to all of our volunteers, coordinators, business and community partners along with the Senior Bowl for helping make the Mobile Festival of Hope a reality!!! Together we CAN and DID do more than any one of us could had ever done alone. Thank you for your collaborative spirit and giving heart!

I am looking for some great stories from the Festival. If you have a story you would like to share (which I might publish), please email it to me ASAP. Also if you would like to leave a comment about your experience or a prayer for Mobile, please visit www.mobilefestivalofhope.com and go to the comment section.

We will be having a Celebration Rally very soon (most likely Friday, March 5 at 7:00pm). Please mark it on your calendar and plan on attending. We are NOT done with Mobile yet!!! Why? Because God is not done with Mobile yet! Be watching for what is next!

I love you and appreciate you!

Mobile's Festival of Hope
A Compassion Project of Convoy of Hope & Joe Savage Ministries

 January 24, 2010 - Ladd-Peebles Stadium - Mobile, Alabama

Sunday is a big day! I ask you to pray! God is at work!

Sunday, January 24 from 2:00-6:00pm at Ladd-Peebles Stadium is going to be amazing as we provide services and help to those in Mobile. Here is what God has put together for Sunday: We had 1,200 volunteers come together Friday night to learn how they can serve the people of Mobile, Alabama. We have 70,000 pounds of groceries to give away, 1,000 shoes, 10,000 meals, 87 hair stylist, 30+ doctors & nurses, 50+ local coaches and 50+ college athletes, 30+ community service organizations, 50+ churches, 200+ trained prayer leaders, photographers, entertainers, musicians, and much, much more! We expect at least 8,500+ people.

I am asking you for two things:

1) Pray - We need the rain to go away for the day and we need a day where God greatly touches people's lives! Will you pray?

2) Give - We still need some money to help us pay for groceries, shoes, and other things it takes to put on a huge outreach like this. We are about $15,000 short. Will you give?

Jesus said, "When I was hungry, you gave me something to eat. When I was thirsty, you gave me something to drink . . . What you do for the least of these my brethren you do for Me." Please help and please pray! The opportunity that has been placed before us is simply unprecedented. Hundreds, if not thousands of people's lives can be directly touched by your willingness to involve yourself! No one can do it, but you!

We have an individual who has placed a $5,000 challenge before us. He is giving $5K for every $5K that we receive up to $10,000. Will you match this challenge?

Email me back if you will. I personally have given and ask you to join me in loving and reaching people for Jesus Christ through this humanitarian project.

Clearly God IS at work in Mobile, Alabama!  Will you join Him in His work?

Thanks!
